Homemade Embellishments!

Good after Wednesday, everyone! (A.K.A. Thursday) Today I am excited to post my very first set of homemade embellishments! I found these cute little wooden shapes at Walmart. I paid $1 for 9 wood shapes. I had no idea, at the time, what I was going to do with them. They were just so cute and perfect shapes for my daughter's scrapbook. So I bought them-and boy am I ever glad I did!!! I got some great ideas to paint them but couldn't wait long enough for me to actually go and buy the paint. LoL So instead I used Bic Mark It markers. BOY did they turn out GREAT!!! The colors are absolutely fab and the gemstones and stickers made awesome additions. I also used some twine and, of course, some tulle. I think they turned out amazing considering it was my first go! What do y'all think? Take care and have a great almost Friday!!! :)




I actually used a rub-on for this one. It worked great!
(The paper flowers on the heart were also made by me.)

    these turned out amazing! I don't know which one i love the most. The princess dress is super cute though! :-)

      Thank you!! :) I had so much fun with them. I can't wait to go buy more shapes. :P I love the dress too-so princessy! And the shoes remind me of Cinderella's glass slippers. The castle also turned out well-better than I thought it would. Thank you for the comments, I really appreciate them. :)

I'm Finally Back!!! Well...almost.

Oh my goodness!!!! It is SO good to be 'back'! The past 6 weeks have been Hell!!! Ironically, the day of my last post, I got a prescription for an antibiotic to cure an infection I had in my right pointer finger. I have eczema and it is very sensitive to weather. During our hottest and driest week, my eczema became painfully dry and cracked which let in normal bacteria that is found on our hands. Unfortunately, I also have asthma and severe seasonal allergies. (Seasonal allergies were the worst this summer too!) So on top of all the 'fighting' my poor body was doing, the infection was too much and it overran my system. To make a long, and extremely painful, story short the infection overtook both my hands rendering them useless for the past 6 weeks. I am on my 6th or 7th course of antibiotics. After being in and out of the ER on IV antibiotics for a week and a half, and the infection only getting worse, the doctor finally admitted me to the hospital for 4 days last week

Bookm-ARGH! Card

Good Monday morning, everyone! How is everybody today? I hope your weekend was fun. :) Mine was awesome. Got a LOT of cleaning done and then even more crafting done. Minus the fact that my chest infection keeps me from breathing....I had a good weekend. However, I am as clumsy as I could possibly be. I don't know what it has been this past week but I cannot seem to control my hands. They have been fumbling everything! Point in question? My first ever bookmark card. I thought I would try out another different style of card and I have always wanted to do a bookmark card. This one turned out BEAUTIFULLY...until I dropped my ink pad on it. >.> I was not impressed.
